1965-67
Trained in the Fine Arts at the Johannesburg School of Art
1967-70
Worked as a textile designer and later supported herself through the design and embroidery of clothes and patchwork
1970-1979
Her background in textiles inspired her to create cloth collages, framed under glass
1979
Carol held her first one man show of cloth collages at Gallery International in Cape Town
1985
Started painting with acrylics on board, varnished to give an enamelled appearance. She also painted on glass, in the reverse. Carol decorates her frames to suit the painting.
The style developed from the cloth collages, and the work portrays everyday life influenced by her imagination, the countryside and fynbos of the Overberg, the city of Cape Town and her travels to Prague, Czech Republic and Barcelona, Spain.
