GEORGE TAYLOR-BOTHA
Born Jagersfontein, Orange Free State.
Deceased 25.04.2012
 

George finished Matric in Uitenhage in 1951. He then went on to become a layout artist in Johannesburg between 1952 and 1956.
George worked in a promotion and marketing firm in Durban from 1957 to 1970. The business then moved down to Cape Town in 1971.
Since 1984 George has studied with, Ryno Swart at Ruth Prowse School of Art; and Sheri Hornsey at the artists co-operative, Cape Town.

In 1985 George recieved a Merit Award at the Ruth Prowse School of Art.

GROUP EXHIBTIONS FROM 1984 TO 1991 WERE HELD AT:
Cape Gallery,Cape Town;
Hout Street Gallery,Paarl;
Sun Gallery,Cape Town;
Edrich Gallery,Stellenbosch.

In 1989 George was a founder member of, the Artist’s Co-operative, Cape Town.

George Taylor Botha's works are represented in private collections in South Africa and Europe.
