After graduating from Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT in 2010, Michele Rolstone sampled a number of creative industries including film and illustration, before taking up her first studio mid 2012 to pursue a career in Fine Art. Here she opened the first African branch of Dr Sketchy’s (part of an international brand of burlesque life drawing events), which she ran for a period of 2 years. It was at this time that she crossed paths with renowned South African printmaker Judy Woodborne, under whose mentorship she has been honing her skills as a printmaker. Michele has since earned the position of Studio Manager at Woodborne’s Intaglio Studio from which she offers professional artist collaborations and editioning, (having worked with artists such as Faith47 and Pierre Le Riche) as well as facilitating printmaking classes, while still maintaining her own practice as an artist. Michele has participated in numerous group exhibitions, art fairs and international printmaking biennales.
