Natalia studied different Fine and Folk art
techniques for four years at the technicon of decorative arts in Kiev, Ukraine.
In 1981 after five years of training in painting, classical drawing, book
illustration and design she graduated from Kiev University of Polygraphic
Art with BA in Art and Book Design. Natalia worked with different publishing
houses in Ukraine creating illustrations and designs for books and postcards.
She has won numerous diplomas and awards for designing books and postcards
in the Ukraine and USSR.
Her works are now in the collection of the Kiev Museum of Books and Printing.
For a few years Natalia worked for Ukrainian TV as screen and stage
designer for various programs. She also designed the interior
space and décor of several Kiev Exhibitions. One was a unique exhibition
of Scythian Gold held at the Museum of History in Kiev in 1990.
Natalia started to exhibit her artworks from 1980. She was a member of
numerous exhibitions in Kiev, Moscow, Lvov. In 1990 her works were in
the exhibition of “Contemporary Ukrainian Art” at the Gallery
in the Center for East-European Fine Arts in Marsvinsholm, Sweden. In
1991 Natalia traveled in the USA and exhibited her works in New York and
Washington.
In December 1992 she came to South Africa to be involved in the project
of creating the Russian Art Gallery in Centurion, and Marvol Museum in
Cape Town. She designed the gallery and museum expositions and the interiors.
In 1994 Natalia exhibited her works of art at the ‘Reconciliation”
exhibition at Potchestroom University and in 2002 her solo exhibition
“Nostalgia” at the Cape Gallery opened.
Natalia prefers classical watercolour technique for portraits and still
loves and mixed media for abstract, decorative paintings. Her works are
in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, USA, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany
and South Africa.
